Project Manager Intern

About the Mission

TerraByte Green is a non-profit startup based in North Carolina, focused on the intersection of digital equity and environmental sustainability. We manage e-waste responsibly by refurbishing technology to bridge the digital divide.

The Big Picture

This is a fully remote internship, though candidates based in North Carolina, especially those local to our operating area, are preferred. You will work directly with our Founder and CEO and coordinate with interns and volunteers across our teams to plan, schedule, and track projects from start to finish. This is a hands on opportunity to build real project management experience in a mission driven organization.

What You Will Do

• Plan projects using a work breakdown structure (WBS) to divide project scope into manageable tasks and deliverables
• Create network diagrams to map task dependencies, set the order of work, and identify the critical path
• Communicate and coordinate with all stakeholders to make sure project milestones are met
• Use project management software to track tasks and report project progress to stakeholders
• Identify blockers and schedule risks early and work with the team to resolve them

Why This Opportunity Matters

You get real, portfolio ready project management experience You will have direct ownership over project plans that support programs helping close the digital divide You will build skills in project planning, scheduling, stakeholder communication, and project management software, all of which transfer directly to future roles You will receive mentorship, a letter of recommendation or reference, and networking opportunities within the nonprofit space Strong performance may lead to future paid opportunities as TerraByte Green grows

Compensation

This is an unpaid internship. Our priority is giving you real experience, mentorship, and professional material you can use to grow your career, with the goal of transitioning capable interns into paid roles as the organization's revenue grows.

Requirements & Onboarding

North Carolina residency preferred, open to fully remote candidates Minimum commitment of 5 per week, for a 3 month internship No prior project management experience required. We are looking for reliability and curiosity over existing skill Reports directly to the Founder and CEO
