At South Shore Insurance Underwriters (SSIU), our mission is to create something bigger than all of us and transform the way insurance is bought, sold, and serviced. As a Gulf Coast–owned Managing General Agent, we combine technology, underwriting expertise, and responsive service to help insurance agents find coverage for property risks that don’t always fit the standard market.
The Role
As an Inspections Coordinator, you’ll review property inspection reports, identify discrepancies and potential underwriting concerns, track outstanding requirements, and help turn inspection findings into clear next steps.
You’ll work with agents, insureds, inspection vendors, and internal teams to keep requirements moving and ensure work is completed accurately and within carrier timelines. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys catching details, organizing moving pieces, solving problems, and following things through to completion.
What You’ll Do
Review new business and renewal property inspection reports using established carrier guidelines.
Identify and document discrepancies, concerns, and items requiring additional review.
Track outstanding inspection requirements and follow up on missing information or documentation.
Coordinate inspection workflows and help prioritize the Inspections Processor’s workload.
Communicate with agents, insureds, and inspection vendors regarding requirements, deadlines, and next steps.
Coordinate extension requests and escalate issues that could affect carrier deadlines.
Process approved policy changes resulting from inspection findings.
Maintain accurate documentation of findings, communications, approvals, and policy changes.
Provide backup support to the Senior Inspections Coordinator and assist with team training as assigned.
Stay current on carrier requirements and help identify opportunities to improve inspection processes.
What You’ll Bring
Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organization, time management, and follow-through.
Sound judgment and the ability to recognize when additional guidance is needed.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a remote environment.
A collaborative, service-focused approach and willingness to learn.
Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, strong data-entry skills, and the ability to learn new systems.
Experience in insurance, inspections, underwriting support, policy processing, or a related field is preferred, but we also welcome candidates with transferable customer service or administrative experience who demonstrate strong accuracy, judgment, and follow-through.
What We Offer
Company-paid BCBS health and dental coverage for full-time employees.
Competitive compensation within the posted pay range.
401(k) with a 4% employer match.
Remote work arrangement.
Generous paid time off and 12 annual paid holidays.
Hands-on training, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
