Director of Growth

About Scale Media

For the past 12 years, Scale Media has been building and scaling science-backed wellness brands. Our portfolio of brands, including Live Conscious, 1MD, and Essential Elements, has grown to 9 figures in revenue while operating profitably with no external funding.

Our team is made up of operators, marketers, and builders focused on products consumers actually trust. We're investing heavily in data and AI to sharpen how we develop products and scale brands.

We believe the best decisions come from data, curiosity, and continuous learning. We value high ownership, candid feedback, and thoughtful execution. As a fully remote company, we lead with clear communication, accountability, and trust, and we give people real room to grow and make an impact.

Scale Media has been recognized as one of Forbes' Best Startup Employers, a Great Place to Work, an Inc. Best Workplace, and an Inc. 5000 company.

If you take ownership, think for yourself, and like solving hard problems alongside people who do the same, you'll fit right in.

The Role

We're looking for a Director, Growth to lead our paid acquisition team and raise the bar on performance across our portfolio of DTC wellness brands.

We expect Meta and paid social to be our biggest growth levers. You'll bring deep platform expertise and the drive to be in the numbers every day: reading performance, spotting what changed and why, and working with the team on what to do about it. You'll set the standard for how we buy media, make sure every platform gets clean, complete data, and make our media buyers sharper every week. You'll also allocate budget across channels against the CAC, ROAS, and MER targets we set.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You won't be setting up campaigns or launching ads yourself, but you'll be in the accounts daily, diagnosing problems and helping make the calls on account architecture, bid strategy, audience strategy, and budget pacing. You'll work closely with Creative, Ecommerce, and Analytics, and help us build AI-enabled workflows that make our media buying faster and sharper.

You'll report to the VP of Growth.

What You'll Own

Daily performance management. Reviewing performance every day across brands and channels, catching issues and opportunities early, and driving the team to act on them.

Leading the paid acquisition team. Managing and developing our media buyers: reviewing accounts with them, pressure-testing decisions, and building their judgment.

Media buying standards. Setting and raising the bar on how we buy Meta and paid social: account architecture, bid strategy, audience strategy, and budget pacing.

Platform data quality. Making sure we send the right data into every platform: pixels and Conversions API firing correctly, the right event parameters, and audience exclusions set up properly.

Landing pages, creative, and copy. Working with media buyers, Creative, and Ecommerce to decide which pages to launch and where creative and copy need to improve.

Budget allocation. Allocating and pacing budget across paid channels to hit the CAC, ROAS, and MER targets set with the VP of Growth.

Testing. Running a structured test roadmap across audiences, offers, landing pages, and campaign settings, and turning results into clear next moves.

Performance reads. Working with Analytics to read performance through MTA and lift testing, and acting on what the results show.

AI-enabled workflows. Using AI tools and automation to speed up reporting, analysis, creative tagging, and optimization.

Agencies and vendors. Managing agency or vendor support where relevant.

What Success Looks Like

Double-digit new customer revenue growth while hitting brand and product-level efficiency targets

Scaled Meta and paid social spend across brands

• A daily performance rhythm where problems are caught and fixed in days, not weeks
• Clean, consistent account structures that are easier to scale and diagnose
• Reliable platform data, with no pixel/CAPI event or audience gaps
• A media buying team that makes stronger decisions on its own
• Faster testing velocity, with a clear backlog and documented learnings
• A higher hit rate on new landing pages, creative, and copy

What We're Looking For

Deep Meta and paid social expertise. You've personally managed 8-figure Meta spend for consumer brands, know the platform inside out, and have a playbook on how to scale without losing efficiency that adapts as the platform evolves.

Drive to be in the numbers every day. You look at performance daily because you want to, you notice when something moves, and you don't rest until you understand and address it.

People leadership. You've managed media buyers and made them measurably better through direct feedback, account reviews, and clear standards.

Tracking fluency. You understand pixels, Conversions API, event parameters, and audience exclusions well enough to spot problems and specify fixes.

Cross-channel budget experience. You've allocated budget across more than one paid channel and can make tradeoffs between them.

Conversion and creative judgment. You can look at a landing page, ad, or piece of copy and say specifically what will improve performance.

Testing discipline. You design clean tests, read results honestly, and know when a learning is real.

Analytical strength. You're comfortable working through performance data, attribution gaps, and the limits of platform-reported numbers.

AI fluency. You actively use AI tools to speed up analysis, reporting, and execution.

Cross-functional partnership. You work well with Creative, Ecommerce, and Analytics without adding unnecessary process.

7–10 years of relevant experience, including managing media buyers.

Strong candidate backgrounds include:

• Meta or paid social leads at scaled DTC brands
• Senior media buyers who have managed a team of buyers
• Agency paid social leads who've run large ecommerce accounts

Preferred, but Not Required

Experience with TikTok or other paid social channels

• Hands-on Google Search, YouTube, and Performance Max experience
• Experience in supplements, wellness, beauty, or consumer subscription businesses
• Experience operating across multi-brand portfolios

What We Offer

• Salary: $140,000–$200,000, depending on experience
• Excellent medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
• Fully remote, full-time position
• Monthly WFH stipend
• Generous paid time off program
• Discounted products
• An amazing team to work alongside
