Long-Term Remote Role
If you’re a high-performing operations professional who thrives on operational data accuracy, field-service scheduling, and working directly with a scaling South Australian solar leader that values strategic impact over simple task completion — keep reading.
This isn’t a role for a generic virtual assistant waiting for instructions.
This is a focused, outcome-driven position where you’ll own SimPro job scheduling, drive purchase order tracking, eliminate stock/component discrepancies, and serve as the operational backbone behind flawless install-day execution.
Why This Is a Dream Job
You’ll be working directly with an established, scaling South Australian business (Solar Power Direct) who:
Champions Innovation: Operates a future-of-work, global-impact team that prioritizes AI-adaptive operators.
Values Your Growth: Builds deep, in-demand expertise in trades management software (SimPro) and provides access to an assigned Success Manager (CSM) for professional coaching through your first 90 days.
Respects Your Expertise: Integrates you into an established operations and field-service team with clear ownership over scheduling and purchasing rather than a scattered list of generalist admin tasks.
Builds Stability: Operates alongside its in-house installation crew (PMEC Electrical), with a long history of collaborating with Filipino professionals to build long-term team extensions.
You’ll get career transformation, high-level visibility, and genuine ownership of critical operations—without being stuck in a generalist "virtual assistant" rut.
What You’ll Be Owning This is a core operational role covering SimPro scheduling accuracy, purchase order creation, and stock data integrity. You aren't just filing forms; you are catching errors before they reach install day, maintaining clean stock levels, and ensuring field crews have accurate information.
You’ll take the lead on:
SimPro Job Scheduling: Keeping SimPro job schedules updated in real time, liaising daily with the job allocator to reflect on-the-ground changes accurately.
End-to-End Purchasing: Raising and tracking Purchase Orders in SimPro, chasing supplier confirmations within 24 hours, and logging receipts consistently.
Data Integrity & Auditing: Conducting regular stock and component audits to eliminate phantom/incorrect stock data before it impacts live job installs.
Supplier Communication: Serving as the reliable point of contact for vendor follow-ups, resolving stock/cost discrepancies proactively.
AI Workflow Integration: Implementing AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT/Claude) to summarize supplier communication threads and accelerate routine follow-ups.
Operations Optimization: Identifying process gaps in stock tracking and scheduling workflows to deliver continuous data-quality improvements.
Requirements
This Role Is a Great Fit If You:
Are a SimPro Power User: You have direct, hands-on experience managing job scheduling and purchasing modules within SimPro Enterprise.
Are a Data Guardian: You catch errors before they become problems, possess a natural inclination to double-check details, and treat discrepancies as challenges to solve.
Are an AI-Adaptive Operator: You actively use modern AI tools to streamline administrative tasks and speed up supplier follow-ups.
Have prior experience in trades, solar, electrical, or field-service operations administration.
Are High-Accountability: You manage dual workstreams (scheduling and purchasing) independently without needing daily hand-holding.
Communicate with elite fluency and professional confidence in written and spoken English.
What Success Looks Like
After 60–90 Days:
The System is Fortified: SimPro job schedules are updated same-day with zero unresolved scheduling discrepancies flagged by the job allocator.
Production is Seamless: Purchase orders are issued on time, supplier confirmations are logged within 24 hours, and no follow-ups fall through the cracks.
Impact is Measured: Stock and component data discrepancies show a measurable reduction, eliminating install-day delays caused by stock errors.
Trust is Earned: The operations team relies on your data accuracy so completely that routine schedule and PO updates no longer require double-checking.
Final Word If you’ve ever thought: "I am an operations specialist who knows SimPro inside out and catches errors before they happen—I just want a client who is organized and values my technical depth," this is that role.
