PermitFlow is redefining how America builds. We’re an applied AI company serving the nation’s builders, tackling one of the largest information challenges in the economy: understanding what can be built, where, and how . Our AI agent workforce helps the fastest-growing construction companies navigate everything from permitting and licensing to inspections and project closeouts – accelerating housing, clean-energy, and infrastructure development across the country.
Despite being a $1.6T industry, construction still suffers from massive delays, wasted capital, and lost opportunity. PermitFlow has already delivered unprecedented speed, accuracy, and visibility to over $20B in development, helping contractors reduce compliance time, de-risk projects, and scale with confidence.
As the U.S. enters a new capex supercycle across data centers, factories, housing, and renewables, joining PermitFlow means building the AI infrastructure at the core of every construction project driving the next wave of reindustrialization.
We’ve raised over $90M, most recently completing our Series B, from top-tier investors including Accel, Kleiner Perkins, Initialized, Y Combinator, Felicis, and Altos Ventures, with backing from leaders at OpenAI, Google, Procore, ServiceTitan, Zillow, PlanGrid, and Uber.
About This Job
We're hiring a Finance and Billing Operations Manager to own our core finance operations as we scale. This is a high impact role. You'll work closely with the founders and outside partners to keep our financial systems accurate, organized, and ready for growth.
This role needs someone who ideally has already owned billing or AR operations end to end. You'll audit what exists, find the gaps, and fix them yourself. There's no playbook, so you need to be comfortable building one. You’ll be hands on in the day to day, while learning how to build better processes, reporting, and systems over time.
In This Role You Will:
Support and help manage month end close, including reconciliations across revenue, billing, and cash
Own day to day accounts receivable and payable, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments
Work closely with outsourced bookkeeping partners to ensure accurate financial records
Help improve billing, collections, and expense workflows
Maintain and use finance tools across billing, payments, and spend management
Assist in building budgets, forecasts, and reporting for leadership
Track key financial metrics and help surface insights to the team
Support compliance, audit readiness, and internal controls
Partner cross functionally with operations and leadership on financial processes
You Should Have:
4-7+ years of experience in finance or accounting
Experience with AR, AP, or billing operations
Exposure to month end close or financial reporting
Basic understanding of revenue recognition and accounting principles
Experience working in a startup or fast paced environment is a plus
Comfortable working in spreadsheets and finance tools
Strong attention to detail and willingness to own work end to end
Clear communicator who can work with non finance teams
What We’d Love To See:
Background in accounting, audit, or a CPA track
Experience with tools like Stripe, QuickBooks, NetSuite, Ramp, or Brex
Exposure to forecasting, budgeting, or financial analysis
Experience working with external accounting or bookkeeping partners
Interest in improving processes or using automation tools
Someone who is proactive, curious, and wants to grow into a broader finance role
What We Offer:
Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a high-growth company
100% company-paid base medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees + healthcare FSA
401(k) savings plan
Unlimited PTO and paid family leave
Home office & equipment stipend
Daily in-office lunch and dinner provided
Commuter benefits (pre-tax transit and parking)
