Vice President, Technology

GREENBOX CAPITAL | REMOTE, UNITED STATES

Why This Role Matters

Technology is central to how Greenbox Capital operates, serves customers, and scales its business.

As Vice President of Technology, you will lead the evolution of our technology organization, modernize our platforms, and build the engineering capabilities needed to support continued growth.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own technology strategy, architectural direction, engineering performance, and the execution of initiatives that create measurable business value.

This is an opportunity for a technology executive who combines strategic thinking with genuine technical depth. You will be expected to understand complex systems, challenge architectural decisions, develop strong technical leaders, and translate business priorities into scalable, secure, and reliable technology solutions.

You will also help shape how we apply AI across our business and engineering organization, identifying opportunities where emerging technologies can improve productivity, decision-making, and operating performance.

Success requires more than setting a technology vision. You must be able to evaluate what is working, recognize what needs to change, make difficult decisions, and lead the organization through execution.

What Success Looks Like

• Establish a clear technology strategy and roadmap aligned with business priorities, growth, and long-term scalability.
• Modernize and strengthen our cloud, application, and data architecture to improve reliability, performance, security, and operational efficiency.
• Build a high-performing engineering and data organization with strong technical leadership, clear accountability, and consistent delivery.
• Improve engineering effectiveness, development practices, and delivery predictability while maintaining high standards for quality and security.
• Identify and implement practical AI capabilities that improve business processes, engineering productivity, and measurable operating outcomes.
• Strengthen technology governance, security, system resilience, and operational continuity.
• Build effective partnerships across Product, Operations, Risk, Data, and executive leadership.
• Connect technology investments and architectural decisions to clear business cases, measurable outcomes, and long-term value.

What You'll Do

Define Technology Strategy and Drive Execution

• Partner directly with the CEO and executive leadership team to establish technology priorities aligned with business objectives.
• Develop and execute a technology roadmap that balances modernization, innovation, scalability, security, and operational needs.
• Evaluate technology investments, organizational capabilities, and competing priorities to determine where resources will create the greatest impact.
• Translate complex business challenges into clear technical strategies, execution plans, and measurable outcomes.
• Establish performance measures that improve visibility into engineering productivity, delivery quality, reliability, and business impact.
• Provide independent, evidence-based recommendations and constructively challenge assumptions when better alternatives exist.

Lead Architecture, Modernization, and Scale

• Provide technical and architectural leadership across cloud infrastructure, applications, data platforms, and enterprise integrations.
• Evaluate existing architecture, identify technical limitations and risks, and establish a practical modernization strategy.
• Lead architectural decisions involving scalability, reliability, security, performance, cost, and delivery speed.
• Work closely with engineering leaders and architects to evaluate design alternatives, challenge assumptions, and establish appropriate technical direction.
• Guide the evolution of production cloud environments and modern data platforms supporting critical business applications, analytics, and operational workflows.
• Ensure systems are designed for maintainability, observability, resilience, and sustainable growth.
• Balance immediate business needs with long-term architectural health and technical sustainability.

Build and Lead High-Performing Technology Teams

• Lead, develop, and strengthen engineering, data, and technical leadership capabilities across a geographically distributed organization.
• Evaluate organizational structure, technical capabilities, leadership effectiveness, and talent needs.
• Establish clear expectations for quality, productivity, delivery, collaboration, and accountability.
• Develop technical leaders who can operate independently, make sound decisions, and build high-performing teams.
• Address performance challenges directly and make timely organizational and talent decisions.
• Improve engineering processes, execution discipline, prioritization, and resource allocation.
• Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, technical excellence, and measurable results.
• Advance Practical AI and Engineering Innovation
• Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve business workflows, customer experiences, operating efficiency, and decision-making.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to evaluate use cases, implementation requirements, risks, and expected returns.
• Guide the integration of AI-enabled capabilities into production applications and operational processes where appropriate.
• Improve engineering effectiveness through responsible use of AI-assisted development, testing, and related tools.
• Establish appropriate standards for security, reliability, quality, governance, and human oversight.
• Measure whether AI initiatives deliver meaningful improvements rather than simply introducing new technology.

Strengthen Security, Reliability, and Technology Operations

• Establish expectations for secure, resilient, and well-governed technology operations.
• Ensure appropriate controls exist for data protection, system availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and technical specialists to identify and address security, compliance, and operational risks.
• Improve visibility into system performance, incidents, technical debt, and emerging infrastructure needs.
• Balance risk management with business agility and execution speed.
• You're a Strong Fit If:
• You are a technology executive who can move comfortably between business strategy, architectural decisions, and engineering execution.
• You have the technical depth to independently evaluate complex systems, challenge recommendations, and make informed architectural tradeoffs.
• You have led meaningful technology modernization or platform transformation initiatives and can demonstrate their business impact.
• You understand what it takes to operate reliable, secure, scalable cloud and data platforms in production.
• You have built, developed, and held engineering and technical leadership teams accountable for performance.
• You can distinguish symptoms from root causes, evaluate competing options, and make sound decisions without perfect information.
• You are comfortable challenging executive stakeholders and taking ownership of difficult decisions.
• You know how to balance technical excellence with commercial realities, resource constraints, and delivery expectations.
• You see AI as a practical capability for solving business and engineering problems, not simply a technology trend.
• You thrive in environments where priorities evolve, expectations are high, and leaders are expected to take ownership of outcomes.
