A Brief Overview
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is the nation's first hospital devoted exclusively to the care of children. Since our start in 1855, we have been the birthplace for countless breakthroughs in pediatric medicine. Today, that same spirit of care and innovation continues. At CHOP, we are breakthrough makers! Whether performing a hand transplant, lending a helping hand to a family who can't find their way, or handling the business, the 22,000 members of our workforce make a difference in the lives of the patients and families we serve. It's not just about helping a child to see, it's about challenging ourselves to see the world around us differently. It's not just about cutting-edge heart procedures, it's about having heart. With 50 locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, we are members of the local community. With international medicine programs, we are members of the global community. Like our founders, everyone at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia contributes to a common goal -- to make sick children well and to secure a healthy future for families.
