From empowering entrepreneurs to build successful businesses, to supporting their clients to arrange 'me time' moments, we're in the business of elevating people - helping them to thrive and feel fantastic. Lifting others up can be hard, heavy work, and we passionately believe that the sense of purpose and personal satisfaction this brings are worth it.
What started in Poland is now an international, cloud-based marketplace that's scaling rapidly. We bring independent business owners together with their customers on a product that connects creative communities and opens up worlds of opportunities.
For our providers, our products offer services for getting booked, paid, and building a loyal client base. For their clients, we're where they can find their favourite spots, discover new businesses and book appointments in an instant.
Working in a rapidly growing, ever-changing scale-up comes with its own set of opportunities and challenges. If you prefer a stable environment, with clear processes and structures then, we've got to be honest, you won't always find that here. However, if you enjoy inventively solving problems with others, helping create clarity when things get confusing, and prioritising your own path within ambiguity, then the chances are that you'll love the opportunities available to grow your career at Booksy .
The people you'll like to work with and things you'll enjoy impacting:
As a Director of Engineering reporting to the Chief Technology Officer in our Provider Domain, your purpose will be to own the technical strategy and delivery for the systems hundreds of thousands of independent businesses run on every day. You will:
Own end-to-end delivery across 4–5 cross-functional teams, leading through Engineering Managers and Staff+ Engineers in a deliberately flat structure with no layers in between.
Set the engineering standard for the domain — building the frameworks for architecture decisions, technical proposals and how teams work.
Lead our AI transformation of the engineering lifecycle, and define the measures that prove it worked.
Partner with Product to turn commercial strategy into engineering strategy, and back it with experimentation and data.
Build a team of exceptional density, coaching leaders who can operate autonomously.
Requirements
Essentially, to ensure you succeed in this role you're going to need…
To think like a product owner, not a ticket-deliverer — you understand unit economics, funnels and growth mechanics, and the commercial impact of what your teams ship.
Experience personally establishing engineering rigor: architecture decision records, technical proposals and standardised ways of working that teams actually adopted.
Practical experience embedding AI tooling into the day-to-day engineering lifecycle — and a clear view on how to measure the impact and protect code quality.
To have led multiple squads through Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers in a high-growth scale-up or high-transaction marketplace or SaaS business, while staying close to the work.
At a minimum we require conversational level English language skills. Why? English is our company language and is used for any business-wide communications, so we need you to be able to speak English to feel like an integrated part of Booksy .
It will also help you to have…
Experience with two-sided marketplaces or booking platforms.
Exposure to growth engineering or growth experimentation.
B2B SaaS experience at scale.
Benefits
We're proudly distributed across the globe, with each market being remote-first.

Additional benefits that might differ depending on the location. You shall be provided with the benefits details during or after your first conversation with one of our TA Specialists.
How AI helps us find great people
Think of our AI tool as a really smart assistant for our recruitment team. Its job? To help us move faster, stay consistent, and make sure no great candidates are overlooked. Every application goes through the same AI review to help us spot skills that match the role - but don't worry, AI never makes the decisions. Real people do. Our recruiters and hiring managers handle every final call. And we regularly review how the tool is used to keep things fair, ethical, and compliant with data protection laws. Curious about how it works? You can always ask how AI was used in your application - it won't affect your chances in any way.
Our Diversity and Inclusion Commitment:
We work in a highly creative and diverse industry so it goes without saying that we strive to create an inclusive environment for all. We welcome people from all backgrounds and are committed to fair consideration in our hiring process. If you have any accessibility needs or require reasonable adjustments during the interview process, please contact us at , so we can best support you.
Kindly submit your application and CV in English to ensure it is successfully reviewed.
