Account Director – Legal Services
Sales | Full-Time
Location: Remote | Eastern or Central Time Zone preferred
The Opportunity
Avalon is growing its sales team and looking for an Account Director to help expand our relationships with law firms and corporate legal departments.
This role focuses on developing and closing new business opportunities while building long-term client relationships. You will sell services across the litigation lifecycle, including eDiscovery, managed document review, legal staffing, and litigation support , working alongside experienced sales and operations teams.
It is an excellent opportunity for a developing sales professional who has built a foundation in B2B sales and wants to grow within the legal services industry.
You do not need to be an eDiscovery expert. We are looking for someone who can prospect consistently, build credibility with clients, learn our services, and develop long-term relationships with law firms and corporate legal teams.
As your knowledge and client relationships grow, you will also have opportunities to introduce clients to Avalon 's broader capabilities, including eDiscovery, digital forensics, managed document review, legal staffing, and cybersecurity.
What You'll Do
New Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities with law firms, corporate legal departments, and other organizations with litigation and document-service needs
Build a consistent pipeline through phone, email, LinkedIn, referrals, networking, and in-person relationship development
Develop relationships with attorneys, litigation support professionals, paralegals, legal operations professionals, office administrators, procurement teams, and other client stakeholders
Conduct discovery conversations to understand client needs and identify opportunities for Avalon to provide support
Prospect consistently and develop your own book of business
Consultative Selling
Learn Avalon 's litigation support and document-service capabilities and communicate their value effectively to clients
Recommend solutions based on client needs rather than simply selling individual products or services
Partner with operational and technical teams to develop pricing, proposals, and client solutions
Identify opportunities to introduce existing clients to additional Avalon services
Sales Cycle Management
Manage opportunities from initial prospecting through proposal, negotiation, and close
Maintain accurate and organized sales activity within the CRM
Develop and manage an active pipeline aligned with established sales goals
Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects and clients
Meet or exceed established revenue and business-development expectations
Client Relationship Development
Develop strong, long-term client relationships built on responsiveness and trust
Maintain regular communication with clients to understand upcoming needs and identify new opportunities
Work closely with Avalon 's operations teams to support successful client onboarding and service delivery
Help ensure Avalon delivers on the commitments made during the sales process
Market Engagement
Build a professional presence within the legal community
Participate in networking events, industry associations, client events, and other business-development activities
Use LinkedIn and other digital channels to develop relationships and create new opportunities
Stay informed about litigation support, legal technology, and the broader legal services market
